Indian Trust Administration and Reform Report
Ken Salazar, Secretary of the Interior, named five Native American Indians to look into the way the Native American’s trust funds are being handled/managed. These funds have almost $4 billion dollars in them. This has all been done because President Obama is committed to ensuring that these trust funds are handled in a responsible manner.
The Commission on Indian Trust Administration and Reform issued a large report on several issues pertaining to Indian rights on December 10th. This was a comprehensive report that reviewed many aspects such as land issues. Our Palm Springs tribal attorneys believes that any person working with Native American tribes should closely look at this report. The Commission on December 10th, 2013 during a publicly held webinar approved the final report.
