Rhys Powers Smith is a Pawlegal with SBEMP’s Trust, Estate & Probate Litigation and Special Needs & Elder Law Departments, the firm’s official mascot.

A valued member of the SBEMP team since 2024, Rhys works two days a week and takes his responsibilities seriously. His duties include attending Department meetings, participating in Zoom calls, comforting clients during complex discussions, supporting his colleagues and regularly patrolling the office to help keep his team safe.

Rhys has worked his “tail” off to earn his place on the Team page. He rarely misses a scheduled day unless his mom, SBEMP Partner Valerie Powers Smith, is to blame, and he always arrives ready to work with a smile, a wag and his best effort.

Whether welcoming visitors, boosting office morale or providing a calming presence, Rhys brings loyalty, warmth and enthusiasm to every assignment.
