Tara Terry was born and raised in Indio and brings more than two decades of dedicated family law experience to SBEMP. Her extensive background provides attorneys and clients with a strong command of California family law procedures, practical courtroom insight, and a compassionate, steady approach to complex and sensitive divorce and custody matters.
Tara began her legal career in 1997 in the Family Law Department of the Riverside County Superior Court at the Indio Branch. After several years in the Clerk’s Office, she advanced to the role of Family Law Courtroom Assistant, where she gained invaluable, firsthand experience with courtroom operations, judicial procedures, filings, and case management. This foundation gives Tara a unique and highly effective perspective on how family law matters move through the court system.
In addition to her court experience, Tara has spent many years working in a prominent private family law practice in the desert, collaborating closely with attorneys and clients on matters involving dissolution, child custody, support, and related family law issues. Her ability to anticipate procedural needs, maintain precision under pressure, and support both attorneys and clients has made her a trusted and respected professional in the local family law community.
Throughout her career, Tara has earned a reputation for her professionalism, attention to detail, and commitment to excellence. She is deeply dedicated to providing exceptional paralegal support while helping clients navigate the family law process with clarity, confidence, and care.
Outside of work, Tara enjoys practicing yoga, hiking, and spending time at the lake with her family in Northern California. While raising her children, she was actively involved in their schools and youth sports organizations, serving on fundraising committees and holding board positions. Tara continues to support youth through school sports programs and generously offers her photography services to local schools.
