Family Law Associate Attorney

Pay: $100,000 – $150,000 annually, commensurate with experience
Work Location

Qualifications:
- Active California Bar membership in good standing
- Minimum of 3-5 years of dedicated family law experience
- Extensive knowledge of the California Family Code, local court rules, and relevant case law
- Proven courtroom experience including hearings, law and motion, and Mandatory Settlement Conferences (MSCs)
- Strong legal writing, analytical, and research skills
- Ability to independently manage cases from initial intake through final resolution
- Proficiency with Dissomaster and Judicial Council Forms
- Detail-oriented and able to handle multiple concurrent cases efficiently
Preferred Experience:
- Drafting and responding to discovery requests
- Preparing Requests for Orders (RFOs), contempt motions, and attorney fee motions
- Managing complex financial disclosures, forensic accounting, and custody matters, including 730 evaluations and reunification therapy
- Drafting comprehensive Marital Settlement Agreements and Pre/Post-Nuptial Agreements
- Trial preparation, evidentiary hearings, and participation in mediations and settlement negotiations
- Familiarity with support calculation software such as XSpouse
- Handling high-net-worth cases and business valuation matters

Estate Planning Attorney
Slovak Baron Empey Murphy & Pinkney LLP (SBEMP) is seeking an attorney with expertise in high-net-worth estate planning to join its Indian Wells, California office.
The ideal candidate for this position will need to demonstrate a successful track record of six to fifteen years of estate planning experience providing a broad range of services to clients with sophisticated estate planning needs. The candidate should be able to competently draft revocable and irrevocable trusts with generation skipping transfer tax provisions, have significant knowledge and understanding of ILITs, CRTs and FLPs and a substantial understanding of Federal tax laws. This is an exceptional opportunity to work on complex estate planning and tax matters for high-net-worth individuals and their entities with an extremely successful senior-level attorney with a client base of business owners, retirees, farmers, cattle ranchers and physicians.
The right candidate will have the opportunity to help with the continual development and growth of the practice by developing new projects from existing clients and leveraging referrals from existing clients and their advisors. The goal is to manage and grow the existing practice over a reasonable time frame as the senior partner transitions to retirement.
The ideal candidate will have knowledge of and experience with the following:
- Estate planning for high-net-worth individuals
- Probate and trust administration
- Business succession planning
- Formation of business entities
- Excellent understanding of Federal estate tax laws
- Reasonable understanding of Federal and California individual income and entity income tax law and California real property tax law
- Ability to work in tandem with the clients’ CPAs and other advisors
- LLM in tax preferred
